8 Days Rwanda Uganda gorilla tracking safari

The 8 days Discover Rwanda Gorilla tracking  safari takes you to the volcanoes national park and from this park you can trek the endangered mountain gorillas, track the golden monkeys and visit to Dian Fossey grave, where she was buried after being killed by the Rwandese. Dian Fossey she was great primatologist who advocated for the right of the mountain gorillas in their mist! Activities to encounter include the Rwanda Gorilla Tracking  safari, golden monkey tracking, visit Dian Fossey, chimpanzee trekking, canopy walk, and visit the genocide, cultural markets for souvenirs and curious shopping!

Day1: Kigali-Volcanoes Gorilla Park

After breakfast, meet our guide and thereafter transfer to volcanoes national park with en-route stopover at some of Rwanda genocide memorial sites and lunch en-route. Take evening village walk in Ruhengeri and after drive to lodge for dinner and overnight at Virunga safari lodge/Sabyinyo lodge/Gorilla nest lodge/Kinigi guest house. Meal plan: H/B

Day2: Gorilla Tracking  safari

After breakfast, meet our guide/driver and transfer to the park head office for briefing about the gorillas and the park, thereafter enter into the jungle to search for the endangered mountain gorillas in their mist, it is one hour allowed to stay with the gorillas as you take unforgettable photography and videos and after return back to the park office for your awarding Gorilla Tracking  certificate. Return to lodge for dinner and overnight, meal plan: F/B

Day3: Golden monkey tracking & Visit Dian Fossey

After breakfast, transfer again to the park offices for briefing and after enter into the jungle tracking the golden monkey and this is half day experience. Lunch, after visit the Dian Fossey grave and you will learn from here about her effort to conserve the mountain gorillas in Africa. Return to lodge for dinner and overnight, meal plan: F/B

Day4: Rwanda-Kisoro

After breakfast, take leisure drive with scenic stop at the cultural sites/genocide sites with lunch en-route, then dinner and overnight at Mount Mgahinga lodge/Kisoro traveler inn. Meal plan: F/B

Day5: Batwa cultural experience

After breakfast, experience the lives of the Batwa Pygmies, and walk the Batwa Trail. Accompanied by Batwa Elders, this is an extraordinary opportunity to learn about the unique cultural heritage of the forest’s indigenous people. Whilst you walk through the forest, the Batwa will demonstrate their traditional hunting techniques and knowledge of medicinal plants. You will also visit the sacred Ngarama cave and enjoy the traditional music and dance of this rich and fading culture. Alternatively there are other exciting activities for those interested in the culture and natural history of Mgahinga. Dinner and overnight at Mount Mgahinga lodge/Kisoro traveler inn. Day6: Mgahinga-Bwindi Gorilla Park

The breathtaking drive to Bwindi, sometimes referred to as the Switzerland of Africa, is along winding mountain roads and through thick forests. The long journey through the rapidly changing landscape takes you to Volcanoes Bwindi Lodge, which looks across to the towering trees of the forest. Depending on when you arrive, there may be time before dinner to explore the lodge grounds with its clear mountain stream or visit the local village. Day7: Uganda Gorilla Tracking

After enjoying an early breakfast, you set off gorilla tracking. Trekking through the steep, densely forested hills and then finally coming across the gorillas camouflaged in the vegetation is an inspiring and privileged moment. Tracking in the Bwindi forest requires stamina and can often take most of the day. Alternatively there are other activities and excursions on offer in and around the national park: Take a guided walk in the rainforest, home to several endemic bird species, clouds of butterflies and rare plant life. This walk offers excellent photographic opportunities and the knowledgeable guide will provide a great insight into this globally important habitat. Return to lodge for dinner and overnight, Meal plan: F/B

Day8: Bwindi-Departure

Your safari ends with your journey to Kigali. Before transferring to the airport, there may be time to tour the city and visit the genocide memorial, a moving testimony to this country’s past that it has courageously overcome. Return to your hotel or transfer to the airport in time for your return flight.
